Privacy Policy

We collect only the data needed to run the app and provide these features:

• Account and contact details — if you create an account or contact a travel partner, we may store your name, email address, and phone number when you provide them, along with your username.
• Saved places and My Trip data — places you save to My Trip, your trip basket, and related planning data are stored so you can continue planning across sessions.
• Journey draft data — journey draft details such as dates, notes, and place selections. Guest drafts may be linked to an anonymous identifier in your browser or device until you sign in.
• Inquiry messages — when you send an inquiry to a travel partner, we store the message content and related trip details you include (such as travel dates, party size, and places of interest) so the partner can respond.
• Location data (optional) — if you allow location access, we use your device location only when you actively use a location feature (for example, centering the map on your current position). We do not collect location in the background unless you actively use a location feature.
• App diagnostics, crash logs, and performance data — we may collect technical information such as browser or app version, device type, screen size, error reports, and performance metrics to keep Safari Atlas reliable and secure.
• Device identifiers — we may collect device or installation identifiers only when used by Safari Atlas, Expo, analytics, crash reporting (such as Sentry), or security tools that help us operate and protect the service. We do not collect hardware identifiers such as MAC addresses for advertising.
• Service data — server logs, session identifiers, and similar operational data needed to authenticate requests, deliver the map and API, and protect against abuse.

We use the information above to:

• Provide map exploration, My Trip, journey drafts, and partner inquiry features.
• Maintain your account and sync your saved places when you sign in.
• Deliver inquiry messages to travel partners and support communication about your trip.
• Improve app performance, diagnose errors, and protect the service from fraud and abuse.
• Operate and maintain hosting, email delivery, and other infrastructure through service providers.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only as needed to provide Safari Atlas:

• Travel partners — when you send an inquiry, we share the inquiry details and contact information you include so the partner you chose can respond.
• Service providers — we use vendors such as cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, and crash reporting to run the app. They process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it and use it only to provide their services to us.

We keep account, trip, and inquiry data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Safari Atlas, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Diagnostic and log data is kept for a shorter period needed for security and reliability.

You may request access to or deletion of your personal information where applicable law allows. Email privacy@safariatlas.ai with the email address associated with your account. We will verify your request and respond within a reasonable time. Some data may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for data sent between your device and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to reduce risk and investigate reported issues promptly.

You can browse much of Safari Atlas without an account. You can sign in to save and sync your trip. You can decline location permission if you do not want to use location features. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. In this version of Safari Atlas, booking is not completed inside the app. Sending an inquiry connects you with a travel partner; any booking, payment, or contract happens outside Safari Atlas unless we tell you otherwise in the app.

Safari Atlas is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it where required.

Safari Atlas serves travelers and partners globally. Your information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate. Privacy rights vary by location; contact us to exercise rights available in your region.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Safari Atlas evolves. We will post the current version at this page with an updated effective date when material changes are made.
